About SEE SEE

photography by Paul Chelmis
I went to UCLA's art school and got my B.A. in Fine Arts in March 2006. That summer I started a 6 month tattoo apprenticeship. I worked in tattoo shops from 2007-2011, and 2015 to 2018, and my own studio from 2019 to present day. The 4 yr hiatus was due to health complications which disabled me from tattooing. It was a life changing experience that re-calibrated my priorities with a renewed ideology on work-life-balance. Health is number one. During my 4 yr hiatus, I continued to make art and learned computer applications specifically for designing product packaging.

Having my own private studio was the ultimate game changer in my tattoo career.
I am so grateful for the continued support of my clients and followers. After all these years I still love tattooing because new clients find me via referrals (all the people I've tattooed), and my returning clients provide me the joy of practicing my craft within the bay area tattoo community. I am so lucky!
I book only two months at a time to accommodate a lifestyle that prioritizes my health and freedom (and my dog Juju).

My favorite pastime is sniff walking with Juju, a 14.5 year old, 11 lb blind Boston terrier. Aside from going to work with Juju, I enjoy cultivating self-care: cooking whole foods, exercising, dancing, and exploring new places and hobbies.
I am second generation Chinese American and grew up in Sacramento, CA, leaving at age 18. I've lived and worked as an artist along the Pacific coast -Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and ultimately love the Bay Area best since moving here in 2012 to be closer to my family.
My great great grandfather arrived to Angel Island as a Chinese immigrant in 1909. My grandfather arrived in Chinatown SF 1947; he was separated from his family due to immigration laws which only allowed Chinese men to work in the states. Eventually reunited, my grandma, dad, and uncle are my bay area roots. I owe everything to my ancestors and their hard work to provide me the opportunity to live the life I have now. Since 2024, I tattoo part-time, visit my mom in Sacramento while Juju lives out her remaining senior dog life with me in the east bay.
In 2024, I was artist/production lead for, "The (Middle Path) Bridge (Between Heaven and Earth)", funded in part by Burning Man as an honoraria project; a project that highlights the mysterious impermanence of life, a 75 ft bridge standing 18 ft tall. Building it with my crew re-calibrated my life as an artist.
